...oooops sori!
Dear all,
I may be out of the discussion loop but I'd like to contribute my own views if this is OK.
Firstly, I agree with Tess 100%!. The group will definitely find it very challenging if not difficult to expect and receive support from everyone, ie., Bicol group, Manila group and the foreign-based batch members if some of the basic stuffs below are not given careful thought and consideration:
1. I personally would be interested to know who the officers are and the vision or direction they intend to lead us to. Specifically, I'd like to hear what the president's views on this via a simple write-up in the Proboards or the BUHS yahoo.groups.
2. In today's world, any success is dependent on building and nurturing genuine lasting relationships. In order for the group's leadership to achieve this in the Grand Reunion of 2008, it must ensure from the very beginning that they deliver a transparent and open discussions where everyone's input (no matter how small) is welcomed and appreciated.
3. Present to us what your plans are re: what fund-raising activities you intend to do (with plenty of time in advance) and get the services of people who have the marketing "nous" to implement them to ensure maximum results. If this is done properly, I am sure that more batch members will feel more comfortable in not only joining the reunion but also contributing financially or render other services for free.
4. Post-reunion activities like simple "thank you letters" to all participants, eg., donors, attendees, teachers, etc. must not be overlooked.
5. Ensure proper accounting of all funds collected and corresponding expenses to ensure transparency in all areas. This will engender trust, confidence, and goodwill among all the participants pre- and post Reunion activities and eliminate possible misunderstandings (haka-haka) after the event.
